Internship Program In Chile
Program Overview
The Internship Program in Chile provides U.S. and Canadian students and young professionals with internships in Santiago de Chile. Internship placements are available in a variety of fields, including, but not limited to, business/finance, general administration, hotel management/tourism, non-profit, international relations, computer science, engineering and a variety of other fields. Two program options are available: a 4-week Spanish language course and an 8-week internship (language/internship option) or a 12-week internship (internship option). All internships are unpaid; however, scholarships are available to qualified participants through the CDS International Scholarship Fund. Participants will receive a scholarship application following acceptance to the program.
Program Highlights
CDS works with its partner organization to place participants in internships customized to their field of interest. Companies range from small family-owned businesses to medium- sized companies to multinational holdings. Many companies are experienced in accommodating foreign interns and have worked with CDS and its partner organization for years.
CDS offers:
- Assistance during the application process including help drafting a Chilean-style resume
- Internship placement in your target field with a Chilean host company or organization
- Pre-departure orientation mailing
- Financial assistance through the CDS International Scholarship Fund (must apply separately)
- Health insurance (optional)
- Airport pickup upon arrival in Santiago (optional)
- Cultural immersion/orientation seminar upon arrival in Santiago
- Enrollment in language course (language/internship option)
- Housing in Santiago (optional)
- Support throughout the program in Chile and the U.S.
- Re-entry information about marketing your work experience abroad in the U.S.
Application Deadline
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.* Applications must be submitted at least 3 to 4 months before the desired start date.
Please note that the deadline for summer internships in Chile is January, 15. The Internship Program in Chile is administered in cooperation with our partner organization, Comisión de Intercambio Educativo, (COINED), based in Córdoba, Argentina.
