Express Service

When time is of the essence, consider using CDS Express Service. Express Service guarantees that Form DS-2019 will be issued to qualified candidates within one business day of application receipt. The additional charge is $1,000. Please note that applications submitted for Express Service must comply with the same U.S. Department of State regulations that govern standard CDS J-1 visa processing.

For an application to be eligible for Express Service, you must take the following steps before the clock starts:

• Indicate your interest in Express Service either by checking the box in your application request or sending an email to your CDS representative;
• Submit a complete online application, including all supporting documents;
• Make full payment including program, SEVIS, and insurance fees, plus the $1,000 surcharge for Express Service;
• Email the Training/Internship Placement Plan (Form DS-7002) and Third Party Agreement to your CDS representative, including the signatures of both the intern/trainee and the host company;
• Ensure that the visa applicant and host company are each available for a 20-minute phone interview with CDS between the hours of 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time on the day that the application becomes complete. If the host company requires a site visit, the application is ineligible for Express Service.

Complete applications must be received before 3:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time for next business day processing.
